“You’re not fat”, “you’re not obese”, “you’re just chubby”, “you’re slightly overweight”, “you looked great when you were curvier but you look radiant now that you’ve lost weight”, “you’re not fat, you’re beautiful”, “you’d be prettier if you lost weight”, “according to your BMI you are obese, you need to lose weight”, ...
These past couple of weeks were tough. Chronic illness doesn’t mix well with mental illness, adulthood & 13 months of quarantine. I’ve been exhausted and feeling the depression really creeping up on me again. But this weekend has temporarily healed my soul, so I am grateful 💙☀️
A year into lockdown, less than 10 days before hair salons open again, and yet here I am asking for my first quarantine haircut.
Me: I’m a strong, independent woman who doesn’t need no man and won’t be all mushy
